Every sports leader often states leading a global tour is far from a nine-to-five job.

Newly appointed Women's Tennis Association (WTA) leader Valerie Camillo is familiar with long hours from past positions - notably as a board member of the entertainment company managing American celebrated artist Dolly Parton's entertainment venues.

Beyond the expertise into Parton's brand empire, Camillo takes over the helm at women's tennis with a wealth of experience throughout athletics and show business, previously occupying strategic positions at the world's premier basketball league, National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Baseball (MLB).

Camillo will begin her tenure at the WTA in the coming weeks, replacing the long-serving Steve Simon, who led for a decade concludes with his retirement.

As Camillo takes charge in mid-November, she steps into facing significant matters faced by Simon.

Middle Eastern funding also provides major support toward organizational aims ensuring equal compensation for shared Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and WTA events within three years and additional significant competitions by 2033.

The potential for combining financial operations together with ATP is still being negotiated, since the tours apparently recognizing the need for greater alignment concerning television, data and sponsorship deals.

The current fragmented landscape often causes supporters and backers uncertain and disappointed.

Importantly, the management for both tours faced opposition in a lawsuit by the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), raising concerns about the tours overlooking player welfare.

The organization recognizes the obvious advantage of collaborating with the richer ATP, but Camillo will not want the women's circuit from losing its voice in key negotiations and promotional activities therefore.

Listening to concerns about scheduling and competitor fatigue remains among top priorities.

Given she leads managing simultaneously athletes and events, it will be essential to consider the requirements of both parties and achieve compromise between driving revenue and player well-being producing those earnings.

Her understanding about marketing strategies of America's biggest sports - specifically their methods for fan growth and attract investment through innovation - regarded as a significant element behind her appointment.

The transition to women's tennis coincides with "a moment of accelerated growth and opportunity"per official statements.

Currently represents across women's competitions. Income produced across women's sport recently topped $1bn (£754m) and industry experts predict reaching $2.5bn (£1.8bn) in the coming decade.

Her primary objective will be to ensure the WTA and its leading stars - headed by Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek - take a significant slice of the pie.

"Our organization includes the biggest women's sports stars internationally and occupy a privileged spot within the industry," leadership commented.

"In women's competitions, funding, viewership and coverage are increasing exponentially.

"Generally obstacles for women's competitions requires creating visibility, attracting fans and eyeballs and attention," stated the chair.

"Our situation varies somewhat - having established legacy, we have an incredible legacy, massive worldwide audience, and including highly visible, top-compensated female athletes globally."
